Carebit Practice Management
Dr Brame uses Carebit to manage her practice. Carebit is a digital healthcare platform that is designed to put you in control. It is an easy and convenient way for you to access and manage your contact details, bookings and payments.
All your letters and test results - either created by your clinic or those provided to your clinic - are easily and securely accessible via the Patient Portal. You no longer need to call the team to have these emailed to you, they will be available online, in your secure portal.
Carebit also allows Dr Brame to send secure text and email messages to you- for example, for updates on results and in response to any queries. This reduces delays to treatment and should provide some reassurance.
Please be assured that Carebit take security extremely seriously, they are registered with the ICO in the UK and use a number of encryption techniques and best-practices to secure your data.

Carebit AI
As part of my commitment to accurate and efficient medical record-keeping, I use Carebit’s AI transcription serviceduring consultations. This system securely converts our spoken discussion into a draft written note, which I then review, edit and approve before adding to your permanent medical record.
How your data are handled
- The transcription process takes place entirely within Carebit’s secure, GDPR-compliant healthcare platform.
- All patient data is encrypted both at rest on UK servers and during transmission to ensure it is stored safely. AB Medical Consulting utilises two-factor authentication for added protection. You can also enable this on your own portal.
- The recording and the final verified consultation note form part of your official medical record. Please note that audio data can be deleted on request.
- Your data are never used to train public AI models and are stored only within UK or EU data centres that meet NHS and ICO security standards.
My professional responsibilities
I remain fully responsible for:
- The accuracy, quality and confidentiality of your medical record;
- Ensuring that Carebit meets all applicable UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 requirements; and
- Maintaining compliance with GMC guidance on record-keeping and confidentiality.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- Access a copy of the information I hold about you, including the verified consultation note created from the transcription;
- Request correction of any inaccurate information;
- Withdraw consent to AI transcription at any time (if you prefer, I will take manual notes instead).
Please note that temporary audio or raw transcription data are not retained after processing and therefore cannot be accessed once deleted.
