Consultation Fees

Self Pay

You do not need to hold private medical insurance to receive private healthcare. A significant number of patients choose to "self pay" so they can be seen swiftly by a Consultant with expertise in the appropriate clinical area. Self referral or via GP. All patients are responsible for settling their consultation fees

Initial Consultation (30 minutes)

£275 (From 1st September 2026)

Available face-to-face or by video consultation.

Follow up (15 minutes)

£185

Available face-to-face or by video consultation.

Extended Follow-Up Consultation (30 minutes)

£275

Recommended for complex cases, detailed review of investigations or where additional discussion time is required.

Extended appointments should be arranged in advance so that sufficient time can be allocated without unnecessary time pressure. A comprehensive clinic letter will be provided.

Please note that extended consultations may not be fully covered by some insurers. If you are insured, please check your policy and any applicable excess before booking.

Ad Hoc Appointments

£300

Appointments outside regular clinic times may occasionally be available by prior arrangement.

Please note that this fee may not be fully covered by your insurer.

Private Prescription Fees- Consultant fee

£15

Dr Brame does not dispense medication directly. Prescription charges cover the professional fee for issuing a private prescription.

Any medication or pharmacy charges are payable directly to your chosen pharmacy and are separate from the consultation fee.

In Patient Consultation fee

On request

Dr Brame does not routinely admit private patients under her own care because of her NHS commitments, but she may provide an inpatient respiratory or general medical opinion when requested.

Fees are:

£300 for the first 30 minutes
£185 for each additional 15 minutes

The fee includes a written clinical report.

Insured Patients

Dr Brame is recognised by the major UK private medical insurers and is fee-assured where applicable.  Patients are advised to confirm authorisation, excesses and any limits on consultation duration with their insurer before attending. Extended consultations may not always be covered in full.

Cancellation fees

If you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, please provide as much notice as possible.

  • More than 48 hours’ notice: no cancellation fee
  • 24–48 hours’ notice: 50% of the relevant self-pay consultation fee
  • Less than 24 hours’ notice or non-attendance: 100% of the relevant self-pay consultation fee

This policy allows appointment time to be offered to other patients where possible.
